Shift times, kitchen type, any specific requirements. We confirm availability and rate within an hour.
- 2. KP arrives kitted
Our KP arrives 15 minutes before shift, kitted in non-slip kitchen shoes and clean uniform, ready to brief.
- 3. You sign the timesheet
Duty chef countersigns at end of shift. We invoice weekly. No agency margin loaded on top of the hourly.
£22–£31/hr depending on location and shift type · Standard kitchen porter from £22/hr (£24/hr London). Emergency/same-day cover from £26/hr (£31/hr London). All rates are all-in — PAYE, NI, holiday pay and pension included.
Prices shown exclude VAT. London rates apply within the M25. All other UK cities use standard rates.

How quickly can you supply a KP? +
Same day — most bookings are filled within 2–4 hours. We hold an overflow pool specifically for last-minute cover.
Are your KPs employed by you or self-employed? +
PAYE-employed by Mr Kitchen Porter. No umbrella companies. No IR35 risk for you. You receive a single invoice — payroll, NI, holiday pay and pension are our problem.
What if the KP no-shows? +
We send a replacement within the hour and refund the difference. Our no-show rate is below 1% — we manage it actively.
Do you charge a placement fee if I want to permanently hire a KP? +
After 12 weeks of placement, you can permanently hire any of our KPs at no additional fee. Before 12 weeks, a sliding-scale placement fee applies.
